Food Review: Diddy Riese

March 2, 2011 by kim 12 Comments

From all of the things in the LA/Westwood area to do and eat, Diddy Riese remains at the top of my list. I used to come here regularly when I was in school and was too lazy to whip up a batch of my own cookies. Diddy Riese always saved the day. With their unbeatable prices, ($3.75 for a dozen freshly baked cookies?!) nothing else compares.

I always get a sandwich when I go: cinnamon sugar cookies with cookie dough ice cream. The cookies are sturdy and soft, just the way I like them! The different combinations of cookie and ice cream are limitless. I remember when the sandwiches used to be a dollar… but hey, I guess the prices had to go up in order to keep up. No harm done, it’s still dirt cheap.
Diddy Riese also sells other things such as brownies and shaved ice, but I always stick to the norm. Call me boring, but the sandwiches are just too good to pass up.
The place is packed on weekend nights and the parking sucks, but the line moves fast and I always park in the parking garage just down the street. There’s not really a place to sit down and eat it either, but who needs to sit down when you have all of Westwood to explore?

I love this place. I always stop by if I’m nearby. I can never resist getting at least 2 dozen cookies and an ice cream sandwich.

This reminds me of my favorite ice cream cookie place in Berkeley, Ca, and it’s only 1.50. Check it out they have pictures of the pure heaven on there site. My personal favorite so far is peanut butter cookies with chocolate ice cream.

Keep making awesome posts + being super cute.

I love Diddy Riese and it’s so inexpensive! If I need a dessert for a party or something and don’t have time to bake, i’ll just pick up a couple dozen or so!

Love your blog 🙂 been looking to connect with more LA bakers!
