I’m having Disneyland withdrawals. So naturally, what do I do? Start planning a trip for a Disney World trip in May! My DB and I have never been, so it’ll be a fun celebration after my DB’s first year of law school. I started researching hotels and trip plans, and my goodness.. there’s a lot to plan! Does anyone have any tips on hotels to stay at or places I must see/eat while in Orlando? Or any tips on how to save on admission? Thanks in advance!
Here’s an easy weekday meal that takes 20 minutes to prepare. You can never have enough pasta recipes in your life. True story. In all honesty, the cream cheese makes the pasta quite heavy.. a little too heavy for me. That’s coming from a girl that’d be fine with a bit of butter and parmesan cheese on her pasta. Recipe from Plain Chicken.
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound bacon, cooked and roughly chopped
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 pound penne pasta
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup cream cheese
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 whole eggs
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 2 grilled chicken breast, sliced
Directions
- Cook the pasta according to the package directions.
- Heat heavy cream and cream cheese in a small saucepan over low heat until melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
- Add the parmesan cheese, eggs, garlic powder, red pepper flakes and pepper and whisk until blended.
- Drain pasta (reserving 1/2 cup of hot water) and return to pot. Immediately add the sauce and gently fold until the pasta is coated. The hot pasta will cook the eggs. Stir in the bacon, and add some reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce. Serve with grilled chicken.

if you know anyone in the military, and they are willing to go to DisneyWorld with you, you can get 4 day passes for $138! Also, a great website to check is mousesavers.com. My husband is in the air force (he’s a JAG, and graduated from law school in 2009!) and we are currently stationed in Tampa and we have season passes to Disney world so I have a bit of experience with the parks. I dont, however have much experience with hotels since we typically drive there and back each time we go. A couple of quick notes…. to have a feeling you will really like the world showcase in epcot. Also, if you are going in may, keep in mind that at the end of may are star wars weekends which I think your boyfriend will like! I can tell you much more if you are interested. Let me know. Good luck and you’ll love it! I apologize for any errors or typos in this message- I’m typing it on my tablet and hate the keyboard

We must be on the same wavelength…I’ve been making bacon-y, cream cheesy pasta quite a bit over the last few weeks. Soooooo delicious. I like the addition of chicken!

Mmmm this recipe looks fantastic…. though I can see why you’d think it was a little on the heavy side. No worries, nothing like a light dessert to put you in the right!

I haven’t been to Disney World since I was little, but hoping to go back some day soon! My bf and I are Disneyland annual passholders here and love going whenever we can! I don’t have any current experience with hotels and food at Disney World, but I love reading disneyfoodblog.com, which highlights and reviews different foods, places to eat, specials, tips for the parks, etc., at both Disney World and Disneyland. It’s great and always makes me hungry 🙂 Good luck!
