I have over 250 terms that I have to memorize by November 1st for training. It’s been a while since I’ve had to study for something, so I’m a little rusty with my habits (which explains why I’m blogging and re-watching the first season of “The Walking Dead” right now). I made flashcards and took advantage of the app “studydroid” on my phone, but I don’t feel like that’s enough. Do you have any study tips or routines that help you get the brain flowing?
While I’m asking you for advice, I’ve got another question. I’ve asked this on my twitter and facebook already, but perhaps I’ll get some more tips here. I’m required to wear some makeup for my new job, and I don’t know a THING about makeup! What’s your favorite brand of lipgloss, blush, mascara, and foundation? I’ll be taking notes and a trip to Sephora is in the near future.
You know those lazy days where you don’t want to cook dinner? Make a pizza! I cannot stress how easy Trader Joe’s makes it for you. They sell three different kinds of pizza dough in the refrigerated aisle: regular, wheat, and garlic. I used wheat for this one, but my favorite is the plain dough.
It’s also really important to use a pizza pan when making this, as I have experimented with numerous shapes of baking sheets. The perforated pizza pan allows the crust to completely cook through, ensuring a crunchy bite.
Spinach & Mozzarella Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 package of pre-made pizza dough from Trader Joe’s
- olive oil
- half a jar of pizza sauce from Trader Joe’s
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- fresh mozzarella, sliced
- a handful of fresh spinach
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Follow the directions on the bag of pizza dough– Let sit for 20 minutes before stretching it out to fill the pizza pan.
- Drizzle the olive oil on the rolled out dough and spread evenly.
- Pour the pizza sauce on top and cover the dough, stopping about an inch from the edge.
- Evenly sprinkle the minced garlic. Add the mozzarella and top it off with fresh spinach.
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is completely melted and the crust is lightly browned.

250 words…flashcards is a good way, if it was plain text i would reccomend writing a summary but with words that’s hard…i study best by rewriting the study material 🙂 I would love to help you but that would be a little complicated from Belgium…I miss studying..:( good luck with that and let us know how you did 🙂

one thing i do is incorporate things i have to memorize as passwords so that i always have to type it out every time i want to, say, start my computer.
as for makeup, i’m not an expert or anything either, but i love watching these two makeup guru youtubers:

This looks awesome. I’m headed to Trader Joe’s tonight and now I’m tempted to pick up some dough! Put the words you need to learn on post it notes around the apartment, you’ll get so used to seeing them they’ll just stick.
I’m not crazy into make up but if I do wear anything on my eyes, I always use the Urban Decay eye primer potion stuff. It stops stuff from rubbing off or smearing.

Not so sure on the pizza (my husband would never even try it), but I can help in the make up department.
Best foundation is Laura Mercier foundation powder. Very light and smooth.
I use Nars blush which has an awesome variety of colors.
For mascara I like Clinique High Impact. It helps it seem as if I actually have eyelashes. I’ve also heard rave reviews about Lancome Hypnose.
I’m not so much into lip gloss, but I just discovered Korres Lip Butter. AWESOME! Gives a hint of color and isn’t sticky! Keeps your lips hydrated.
Hope this helps!

Hmm, I normally just wear eyeliner and mascara as well as fill in my brows and just some lip balm to tie it all together. But, a really good mascara that I like is Maybelline’s One By One Mascara. I have it in waterproof and it does wonders for my lashes. Plus it’s pretty cheap since it’s sold at most drugstores. I also recommend L.A. Colors Eye Catching Duo Stick. When I wear this eyeliner, it literally feels like I have nothing on; however, observe your own eyes with different kinds of eye makeup, because I have two sisters and many many aunts. Several of them have very oily eyelids, which causes the eyeliner to smudge badly if you don’t use any powder to mattify. I recommend a primer and a powder to set it so that the oilyness won’t smudge your eyeliner (this is where the foundation part comes into play, but I can’t really say much for foundation and concealer, since I don’t use those.
As for the terms you’re studying, I always find it helpful to incorporate it into a conversation. And if you’re not incorporating, try to teach people the term. I find that when you say it out loud and teach others it, you’re teaching yourself as well. In a sense, you kind of know that you know this term especially if you can say it out loud and explain it in understandable words to other people. Try that. And let me know how that works. BTW congrats!!!

from what i’ve seen you already have good skin. foundation=unnecessary. don’t suffocate your skin with product if you don’t have to.
as far as mascara, clinique high impact all the way!!

Ive spent hundreds of dollars (if not thousands), on high end make up from sephora–kind of embarrassing. My favorites are mostly a drug store bunch:
Foundation: revlon photo ready–prefer it over MUFE, lancome; set with loose powder (i use MUFE hd)
Blush: milani makes great blush–prefer it over bars orgasm
the too faced natural eye palette is all you need for tons of eye shadow looks
Good Luck 🙂

I’m loving the liberal use of red chili flakes on that slice. 🙂

The only advice I could give you is to watch youtube videos to learn makeup application. Before youtube, I didn’t know anything about makeup.
Recommendation: MAC face & body (it’s a light foundation) or revlon colorstay is good.
blush: go without, use a bronzer under your cheekbones
Lipgloss: nyx megashine has a lot of product and smells good
