Day 6 of my 12 days of cookies: Yes, I am still working on my two Costco sized jars of Nutella. No complaints here! I’m “rationing” it more than I am “working” on it. Nutella is a gift from the Gods… the hazelnut Gods. They bake so well into desserts that I couldn’t have a 12 days of cookies without having something Nutella on the list.

These cookies stayed chewy for days after being baked. They didn’t thin out too much and remained sturdy, despite the fact that they were so soft. They crackled on the top and baked uniformly, having the same consistency from the middle to the edge. Recipe from Erin’s Food Files.

Day 6: Chewy Nutella Cookies

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup Nutella
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Cream butter with both sugars until light and fluffy. Stir in the egg, vanilla, and Nutella.
  3. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt into the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Drop the dough by tablespoons onto baking sheet and bake for 6-7 minutes.

Nutella IS a gift from the Gods. Love that stuff! And these cookies look so amazing! I just don’t know if I’m willing to use 1/2 cup of my nutella on it…I’m stingy when it comes to that stuff!

    xo,

This sounds delish! I want to make this for a cookie exchange – how many cookies does this make if I were to be successful at NOT taste testing at any point?

Makes about thirty cookies.replying to a comment is sort of a pain in the butt but I get really annoyed when there is no approximate number of finished product listed in recipes. Other than that-these cookies are pretty good!

I made some for a Christmas party at the library where I work and they were a total hit! Soooo delicious! Perfect texture. I only had regular sized chocolate chips on me, so I used those and it was still wonderful. Thanks for sharing this!

Found you on pinterest and made these today! They are delicious, chewy, and sure to be a hit with the family. The Nutella is not overpowering like I thought it would be.

No kidding, these are making my stomach growl!

We had someone submit their attempt to make these to CraftFAil – she said she mixed up the batter wrong, although if you ask me, even the failed cookies looked delicious! We’ve linked to you in the post as the inspiration, so I hope it brings you more readers who’re ready to bake a few batches of these up!

if you’re interested in seeing the post, it’ll publish on May 8 at http://wp.me/p1sEcb-1mE – thanks!

Wow. Made these tonight. Perfect warm from the oven. Once cooled crisp on the outside but still chewy in the middle. In my oven at 175 deg c, these took 15 mins to bake. Thanks for a recipe that will become a staple in my house.
