Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I went over to the Wrights’ house for the usual massive amount of delicious food. I’m so thankful to have them in my life, along with my family and friends. I baked chocolate crinkles to bring with me… The texture was good, I would definitely bake these for the recommended amount of time. I usually underbake all my cookies cause I like chewy ones, but I wouldn’t do that to these. Also, I would cut down the amount of sugar by 1/4 cup the next time I bake these because they came out super sweet.
Ingredients:
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup confectioners sugar
Directions:
1.) In a medium bowl, mix together cocoa, white sugar, and vegetable oil. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the cocoa mixture. Cover dough, and chill for at least 4 hours.
2.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease the cookie sheets. Roll dough into one inch balls. Coat each ball in confectioners sugar before placing onto prepared cookie sheets.
3.) Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Let stand on the cookie sheet for a minute before transferring to wire racks to cool.

We must have missed you! I saw those but I was too stuffed to try one 🙁

Does it have to be confectioners sugar? D: .
I really want to make these right now.
But I don’t have confectioners sugar. T-T
Kim says
jenn- you can make them with granulated sugar or rolling them in any sugar you want! the powdered sugar just makes it look better for the after effect.

I just made the cookies, and they’re DELICIOUS. x].
Thanks for the recipe. xD

—One day later— :D?
Well, I woke up this morning and I was gonna grab one of the cookies. But I realized they were all hardened.
I was just wondering if there’s any way to prevent cookies from hardening? D:
Kim says
jenn- i’m glad you tried the cookies! these cookies stayed soft days after when i tried them, but a tip to keep cookies from hardening are by putting them in an airtight container with a piece of bread! that always does the trick. the cookies absorb the moisture from the bread and stay soft.

I actually tried these recently but they didn’t expand much from the one inch ball. Is there any reason that could have happened?
