Day 7: Jumbo Dark Chocolate Cookies…. except not really jumbo. I made mine normal sized since I was bringing these to Thanksgiving dinner and wanted more to share. Whatever size you want to make, they taste just as good.
Dark chocolate with dark chocolate chips? Yes, please! We’re big fans of dark chocolate in this household. Thank goodness Nestle started making dark chocolate morsels because it makes my life a lot easier. I can find them anywhere.
I can’t believe next week is already Christmas. I’m going to start making my dough this week so I don’t have to do as much next week. Prepping is the key to success, friends.
These cookies are wonderful. I would recommend even underbaking them just a tad so they finish baking outside of the oven for that chewy texture. Recipe from Nestle.
Ingredients
- 1 2/3 cups (10-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Dark Chocolate Morsels, divided
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup baking cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Melt 2/3 cup of morsels in a microwavable safe bowl for 30 seconds. Stir. If the morsels are not completely melted, microwave for another 10 seconds and stir again.
- Cream together the butter and both sugars. Add in the melted chocolate and mix.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla. Gradually add in the flour, baking cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
- Stir in the remaining 1 cup of morsels.
- Drop by rounded tablespoons (or 1/4 cup if you want to make jumbo cookies) and bake for 12-14 minutes (16-18 if you're making jumbo).
