For the 4th of July, I went down to Manhattan Beach with a couple of friends and spent the entire day there. I wanted to bring some baked goods for everyone to enjoy throughout the day and decided to bake Andes mint chocolate cookies. Everyone who had one enjoyed them, and these are always a hit among the mint chocolate lovers. I particularly like this recipe because the cookies are actually made of chocolate, rather than cocoa powder. They also remained soft for days, although they never last that long. 🙂 Hope everyone had a good 4th!
Decorating bags.
So May is definitely more of a decorating baked goods rather than baking new things. I got a personal order to make cookies & cupcakes for a boyfriend, so I decorated the bag to make it more “lovey-dovey.” Simple, but elegant at the same time. The side says “It was love at first sight” and the ribbon across the bottom says “true love.” You can click on the picture to get a larger, HQ version to see the details.
baking + scrapbooking = love.
You can never go wrong by combining two of your favorite hobbies. For my friend’s birthday party, I baked some cookies. 9 dozen to be exact (snickerdoodles, oatmeal toffee, and chocolate chip), and put it into a box that I decorated. You can really scrapbook on anything and make something look amazing in a matter of minutes. Goodness, I can’t wait until I hope my own bakery so that I can decorate everything in it!
