Not only do I post “real” food recipes now, I also do drinks! I got a little inspired with having my own kitchen, my own refrigerator, my own blender, yada yada yada…
After a long workout (not me, the DB), it’s always nice to have a refreshing cold drink. I keep plenty of frozen fruits on hand so that I can whip up a smoothie in a matter of minutes. Smoothies are usually no more than five ingredients, which make them easy to make and store. You can freeze the extra and save it for later if you don’t finish the batch in one sitting. Happy blending!
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 2 frozen bananas, sliced
- 1 cup of vanilla yogurt
- splash of milk
- 3-4 ice cubes

I love the color of that smoothie! Do you freeze your banana already sliced?
Kim says

I love the idea of using yogurt in a smoothie! Looks much richer and I love the color!
I made a smoothie recently (http://baking-in-brooklyn.blogspot.com/2011/08/fruit-smoothie.html) but your photography and final presentation is much prettier!

I love making this smoothie!! Its the best. I know it sounds crazy but I throw in a fresh spinach leaves… crazy right?! But the blue color hides the spinach and you can’t even taste the difference. Makes me happy to do one healthy thing. Plus, I give it to kids and smile when they love it and never realize they are drinking spinach. Just had to drop a comment and freak some people out!! 🙂
